Ministering
to a bereaved family is still one of our priorities and it is our desire that
we minister and protect simultaneously. To
comply with Governor Andy Beshear’s Executive Orders, and guidelines from the
Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky, Inc., we will adhere to the
following guidelines for visitation and funeral procedures, until further
notice:
Procedures if the funeral
director/home provides support for services held at GCBC:
1). Visitations
and Funerals: All Funeral Visitations, Funeral Services,
and Burials/Committal Services must be PRIVATE EVENTS for the closest of family
ONLY.
- Please note, there will be no
visitations.
2).
Service Recordings: We will record the entire funeral and make available
no more than 25 DVD’s if requested.
3).
Repast: The church will provide up to 70
servings of food for the immediate family, but the food will be delivered to
the home of whomever the family identifies as the Primary Contact. There will be no repast held at Green Castle
Baptist Church until further notice.
Procedures if the funeral director/home
provides DOES NOT support for services held at GCBC:
1). Visitations
and Funerals: Families should contact their preferred
funeral home/director for guidance on the service they will render. GCBC may be
able to provide eulogy and music related support, if the funeral directors
permit.
2).
Repast: The church will provide up to 70
servings of food for the immediate family, but the food will be delivered to
the home of whomever the family identifies as the Primary Contact. There will be no repast held at Green Castle
Baptist Church until further notice.
It breaks our
hearts that we have to celebrate home-goings in a manner that is not consistent
with our church and cultural traditions. More importantly, our hearts and
prayers are with every family that may experience bereavement(s) under these
conditions.
Please
continue to pray for the lives that have already been lost during this pandemic
and the changes. We pray these families
find comfort and strength in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the words
within Psalms 121, my help comes from the
Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth, indeed he who watches over Israel will
neither sleep nor slumber.
Our Lord and
Savior is still on the throne!
May God’s
grace and peace abide with you,
Rev. James
